Don’t make Lena evil 2K16
Supergirl Liveblog S02E05
This is like the fifth time I watch this scene, and every time it moves me just as much. They just captured so many moments of the experience many of us have had.
The one thing that got me was the part about being perfect, I think a lot of us identify with that. For me in particular, it reminded me of when I came out to my mom (well, more like she suspected I was gay and confronted me about it). One of the things she said when I finally admitted I was gay was “You are perfect in every other way, why does this have to be your flaw, why can’t it be anything else besides that.” And God, did that hurt. My mom and I are fine now btw, it was hard but she got around it. But then it hurt a lot.
I identify with pretty much all of Alex speech and the way she said it just rang so true for me. I don’t think I will ever get tired of watching it. And no matter what happens from now on, this exists, they can’t take it away. And I will treasure that.
Let Kara stay single 2K16
If you think Lena Luthor decided to have potstickers served at her fancy gala for any other reason but to make her girlfriend Kara happy, you are wrong.
“You know, people just have to figure out what works for them.
Know who they are inside.
What they’re meant to be”.
And seems like you just did.
Badass Alex, dork Alex, vulnerable Alex, big sister Alex… give me all the Alex, I love all of them.
James, no! Ok, I will try to give it time and see how this whole thing develops, but James there’s nothing wrong with being a sidekick. There’s value in what everyone brings to the table, in different ways, you don’t need to become a masked vigilante to feel like what you are doing is valuable.
As I said earlier, I like Supergirl as the only Superhero in National City. It kinds of reminds me of Buffy and the Scooby gang. Just one of them had superpowers, but the compassion, the understanding, the loyalty and love the scoobies gave Buffy is what helped her succeed for as long as she did. I think with Kara is the same, she was the superpowers, but without her family and her friends, she wouldn’t be the hero she is.
I want James to help Kara by listening to her, by giving her advice, by helping her grown as a hero, not by putting on a suit and trying to prove he can do the same. One of my favorite things about James is that he was always happy to let Kara save the day, that he was proud of her and never thought he was less of a man because he couldn’t stop bullets or because she had to save him, I don’t want to lose that.
Also, you are the freaking CEO of a media company, that is power, sometimes bigger power than anything else. We saw Cat being very conscious of how her words could shape what the city though of Supergirl and how she considered herself responsible for helping her from Catco. You have the power to do the same, and after this week it would be great to keep exploring that.
A baseball bat against alien weapons sounds like a solid plan James. Oh! I mean, mysterious man under a hood and a mask.
Flattery is Winn’s Kryptonite and everybody knows it.
This is always my reaction to heterosexuality, Kara you speak to my soul.
